All users have a role in Vidigami. The roles define what a user can and cannot do. Below, we are going to go over definitions, how to use roles, and how to apply them to users.

Description |

Default Roles |
Default roles act as a base for building a custom role. They are based on a general alignment of a user's ability. When a user is added to Vidigami, the default role assigned to them is “Contributor” and may require updating. Examples of base roles: “Contributor” and “Administrator”. |
|
Custom Roles |
Curated roles are modified default roles. Choose a base role and then add or remove permissions to create a custom role. Once a custom role is created, it cannot be removed but it can be renamed and modified. |
|
Permissions |
Permissions are the individual actions a user group is able to make in Vidigami. Examples: Permission to Upload. Permission to create albums. |
